The 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, held on October 19 at Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, was a star-studded affair filled with memorable moments. One of the biggest highlights was the induction of Ozzy Osbourne, honored by an impressive lineup including Billy Idol, Jack Black, and Maynard James Keenan from Tool. Osbourne’s induction was particularly special as it marked his second time in the Hall, following his 2006 induction as a member of Black Sabbath.
Cher, another icon from this year’s class, was celebrated with a tribute performance, and Mary J. Blige, Foreigner, and Peter Frampton also took the spotlight. Peter Frampton’s emotional ovation-worthy performance was a standout of the night, especially after his long career in rock music.
Kool & The Gang and A Tribe Called Quest represented different musical genres, showing the Hall’s broad scope of honoring diverse influences in music. The ceremony, full of tributes, collaborations, and heartfelt speeches, was broadcast live on Disney+, with plans for a special highlight broadcast on ABC in January 2025.
